I continue to create personal video work spanning film and entertainment edits and original travel videos. I independently complete the process from concept development and material organization to editing and publishing; the original travel videos also involve filming and organizing raw footage. The work has been published on Xiaohongshu, Bilibili and LOFTER, where it continues to receive views and audience engagement.

I have pursued Chinese creative writing over an extended period, completing more than 300,000 Chinese characters of original writing and continuing to publish work online. The organized selection of written work on LOFTER has built sustained reader engagement and a growing body of content, reflecting consistent Chinese-language content production and long-form writing practice.

For the University of Glasgow’s Producing News course, I worked with a group to produce an approximately three-minute-and-thirty-second video news report investigating rising rents in Glasgow and their effects. The project drew on relevant news coverage, data and publicly available government materials, and included interviews with an economics professor, an international student renting in Glasgow and an apartment manager to present the local rental issue from different perspectives. I discussed the interview outline with the group and was responsible for contacting the student interviewee. For the visual production, I planned shots before filming, coordinated people and filming activity on location, undertook the main camera work, and organized and uploaded the raw footage after the shoot.

For the undergraduate Digital Newspaper Editing course, I independently completed a newspaper page editing and layout exercise, using Founder FIT to design and produce approximately two newspaper pages. The pages included around four news reports and supporting images. I planned the layout according to the content and length of each report, and organized and typeset text, headlines, images and other elements, applying newspaper editing and page-design knowledge to complete traditional-media layouts.

Under the guidance of a teacher from the School of Foreign Languages at Changsha University of Science & Technology, I participated in a translation course and practice programme delivered by Changsha Cema Translation Services Co., Ltd. The course and practice lasted approximately one and a half months. Through specialist classes and practical translation exercises, I was introduced to translation methods, the working requirements of the language-services industry and translation practice, and completed related translation tasks that applied my undergraduate English studies to practical settings.

Through online assignments, I completed approximately two months of Chinese–English machine-translation review work. I compared machine-translated output against source texts in both Chinese-to-English and English-to-Chinese directions. Based on the meaning of the source, I checked translations for accuracy and completeness, identified and corrected mistranslations, omissions, garbled text, punctuation and formatting issues, and carried out manual correction and quality checks on machine-translated content.
